The article shares my family’s effort to honor Adam by creating a fund at UMass Amherst focused on substance-use awareness and support. After losing my son, I wanted to make sure his life continued to help others. The fund aims to raise understanding, encourage open conversations, and support students working to address substance-use challenges in their own communities. Sharing this story publicly has been difficult, but it reflects the heart of why Adam’s Parachute exists. Turning loss into something that helps others is one way I continue carrying Adam’s life forward.
